When Nobody Notices Your Tears

You smile for the world though your heart feels tired,
Pretending you’re strong when your soul feels expired.
Nobody sees the battles you fight in your head,
The nights full of worries when you lie in your bed.

They hear your laughter, they see you stand tall,
But they don’t hear the silence when nobody calls.
They don’t see the tears that fall in the dark,
Or the places inside you that have lost their spark.

You carry the weight of the things you don’t say,
You hide all the pain and you carry the day.
But even the strongest can break and feel weak,
Even the bravest have moments they seek.

One day the storm will begin to clear,
The world will become a little less severe.
And you will remember through all of the pain…
That after the darkness, comes sunlight again.
