When love turned with the tide
Part 1: When He Was Her Ocean

In the beginning, he was gentle—like tides kissing the shore. This poem explores how love can start with healing, hope, and shared dreams. The early days of a relationship often feel like magic, and this is one such moment.
Part: When he was her ocean
She stood at the shore, her toes lost in sand, When he arrived with the tides, took her hand. The first touch, like dawn’s cool breath, so kind, A silent promise: her past left behind. His words were calm, like the pull of waves, Washing over wounds her history gave. He told her she was enough as she stood— With him, she needn’t meet the world’s “should.” They walked through school’s long, winding days, She guided him through books and maze. He wasn’t the best, but she deeply believed, That love could lift and goals be achieved. Winter came, and laughter grew, Like seeds of spring in a world brand new. She whispered one night, heart gentle and still, “This feels like forever. It always will.”

This poem is not just imagination—it was written for someone I knew, someone whose story I witnessed unfold before my eyes. I saw her smile in his presence, and I felt the warmth of her hopes. This is her beginning, as she told it to me.
