When I first saw your face

for my buddy

The first time I saw you,

Your face stole my voice

The first time I saw you,

My heart galloped away

I had to stare

You were the mountains, you were the oceans, you were all the forests and all the beauty in the world

I had to stare

I had to hold you

I had to bring you close and keep you

Love at first sight

I would proudly die for you…

I would gladly live for you

I had to cry

It couldn’t be helped

My soul poured out through my eyes

My face was a mess of tears and of snot

And of fears laid bare

I needed to hold you,

My heart commanded me so

to confirm you were real

You were swaddled in a a raiment of amniotic slime and my arms were your blanket when your eyes first met mine

About the Creator

Sam Desir-Spinelli

I consider myself a "christian absurdist" and an anticapitalist-- also I'm part of a mixed race family.

I'll be writing: non fiction about what all that means.

I'll also be writing: fictional absurdism with a dose of horror.
