When at First I Fell
Photo by Amadej Tauses on Unsplash

If only I had never

seen you in the first place.

Maybe then I

Could have been spared.

Spared the merciless anguish in Knowing,

The relentless agony in Seeing,

The heartbreak in Believing.

If I hadn't laid eyes

on you in first place

would I have even fell?

An Expression worth another taking,

A Question worth the asking.

Is it even worth Believing?

My mind went straight to racing,

My heart lit itself on fire,

My eyes could not be moved as I

Stood consumed by my desire

As I fell upon the Seeing,

Wrapped up in the Believing,

Blinded by the Knowing.

Could I have then been spared

If I only hadn't dared.
