nibbling at your fingers

nature's own static cling

its energy lingers

in almost everything

hints of barb, spinning, zinging

attached without a wire

discs igniting, rotating

a palpable, flameless fire

rising without effort

like a snake coiled for a fight

it shocks more than it hurts

as its bark turns into a bite

each sensation is different

each time feels like the first

this low amping current

shock and awes' attempt to flirt

low vibrations exciting

as its energies surge

draws you in, so inviting

until the skin and sting merge

a slight snap, crackle or pop

delivers a shock to the senses

all defences are dropped

and our body expresses

our obvious discontent

at positive and negative charges

this connection without consent

when electricity discharges
