What you've made true
A poem I wrote and performed for Tom and Carly Quinton on their handfasting in 2015

So proud to know you,
So proud to be your friend,
For what you wonderful people have,
So many long for themselves!
~
What you’ve made happen,
What you’ve made true:
A lifetime in pleasure,
A lifetime in joy,
A lifetime of laughter,
And much more to boast!
Respect, adventure, wisdom in pearls and in stepping-stones,
Loyalty, funny games,
Poetry and song!
A home,
A love,
A cat and a dog!
A wish to wander and explore,
With your hands always there for the other to reach out for.
A union in heart, body, mind and soul!
Ten years and a day, and forever more to come!
~
Yes, my friends,
What you’ve made happen,
What you’ve made true,
Shows the world (quite publicly!)
How happy you are and so genuine,
How being yourselves will always win the one who’s won your heart (and body, mind and soul!),
How your natural beauty reflects in each other,
As you display yourselves so openly,
Two wonderful people who’ve found the wonderful love
That today we can all brilliantly see!
