It was like the last bite of a chocolate-dipped cone.
Like getting tucked into bed after a long day.
Like finally remembering the title of the song you’ve been humming
And scratching that itch at the back of your brain.
It was like the first fall of snow glistening on the treetops.
Like finishing the book you’ve been meaning to read.
Like the curls of my hair falling perfectly in place.
It was like crying after you’ve held it in for so long
And the first breath of fresh air after leaving the city.
You asked what it was like to fall in love, didn’t you?
I don’t know how else to put it.
Other than comparing it to the good things.
The best things, the smallest of things.
Oh, right.
You meant love at first sight.
Yeah.
Well.
It was like that.
Just all at once.
