What Still Remains

Storms have shaped my life.

Though storms have shaped the way I see,

Some part of light still lives in me.

It didn't leave, it wanted to stay

And guides me gently on my way.

When others have treated me wrong,

I knew in my heart I belong.

I learned to see my inner light.

In all of life's battles I fight.

In the past many tears did flow.

Then God told me "Let your love show.

Be patient, strong, and persevere

As you overcome pain and fear."

Many emotions I did feel.

I took plenty of time to heal.

In my mind I have a strong will.

My love for myself is so real.

As I live daily on this earth

I have learned to see my self-worth.

There's many reasons I am blessed

While I try to conquer each test.
