Ordinary day
Nothing new to expect
A huff of frustration
What will my life attract next
A low place
I do not see the appeal
I walk alone and ponder
But that one step changed everything
I don't know what led me the other direction
Suddenly I was taking a chance
Why not
And then everything changed
From the gloom
Black and white
to the all the colors in a rainbow
and all the colors that have no names
From spectrum of blue and gray in your eyes
To the golden and fawn strands of hair
There wasn't a color I didn't notice
It was as though some untapped emotion was unlocked
When your eyes caught mine
The dilation and some amount of recognition
The way day knows to turn into night
From across the room
I found the completion of my whole.
About the Creator
Desiree Wetz
I have been intrigued with writing since I was twelve years old. At first, it was poetry but then in morphed into a love of fiction, fantasy, and adventure. When I'm not writing stories, I am running wild with my family.
