Why did you stop?
A Reiki Master for 30 years. Not practicing the healing craft for over ten years. The higher-self of the Reiki Master sent this poem to them, in hopes they would return to their craft.
What Happened to the Healer?
What has happened to your former role as a healer?
The one who shed light on the darkest of spaces,
Who spread love and compassion to everyone they encountered?
Have you forgotten your true purpose?
Has the burden of the world depleted your vitality?
Do you remember the incredible power you possess?
To mend and heal the broken spirits in your midst.
At one point, you symbolized hope.
Providing solace and comfort to those who require it.
Nevertheless, you appear to be drifting without direction.
Your ability to heal now exists only as a distant memory.
Have no fear, dear healer,
The burning passion inside you continues to shine brightly.
Embrace your gifts and rediscover your true self.
Restore healing to a world that is in desperate need, yet again.

Doing it for the troops
The others dropped like flies around me. We fought and struggled to get to this point. I'm the only one left now. The objective is right there. A mere two hundred feet away. The last of my team got a bullet to the head right next to me, but I couldn't do anything. I was able to locate and neutralise the sniper as he shot my friend, so his death was at least not in vain.
