I go back and forth in my mind
Am I wasting my time?
Do I actually mean anything to you?
The way you look at me, confuses me
The way you touch me, confuses me
Because they seem to confirm what I think
But the words you speak in front of others...
Maybe you want to keep things private
Or maybe I really am just that
Nothing but a friend
Nothing more, nothing less
Just someone you can turn to when there is no one else
A last resort, if you will
Someone who makes you feel good
Someone who takes away the darkness
Someone who silences the chaos inside
A stand in until you find the one you actually want
Maybe I'm just overthinking
Or maybe I'm not
You might just be waiting for me to get a clue
Or maybe there is some unspoken thing there
What am I to do?
