What a Lucky Girl
She hid her sadness deep inside

What a Lucky Girl
What a lucky girl they said
With a smile they thought was true
Looking from the outside only
Never knowing what she carried through
Lucky to have someone beside her
Lucky to wear a borrowed dream
Lucky to stand and say she made it
Though nothing was quite what it seemed
They saw the moments dressed in colour
The parts that photographs allow
Never the nights she sat in silence
Wondering how she got here now
What a lucky girl they whispered
As she learned to stay composed
Keeping thoughts behind closed curtains
Holding stories never told
Still she smiled and still she moved
Found small pieces she could claim
Little sparks she kept protected
Tiny fires without a name
Then one day she stopped believing
Luck was something handed down
She stood taller in her own skin
Placed her feet upon the ground
What a lucky girl they say now
Only this time she agrees
Not because life gave her answers
Because she became her own peace
