Well, I Do

I Still Feel The Spark, Flickering

**

My body fights so hard to live

although my mind has called it quits

Gradually shutting down organs

declaring it's braindead

Caught in a loop of suffering

craving fun, romance and love

But, I'm stuck here, barely buffering

feeling unworthy of

***

That powerful connection

that they told us to dream of

I'm so caught up in perceptions

of what classifies as love

Claiming that rainbow at the storms end

when we deserve the bluest skies

Someone tell me what is all this for

help me to fight my own demise

***

They say, healing comes in layers

a constant spiral of the mind

And we're all unwilling players

choosing to believe their lies

That the mind's become a warzone

we're struggling to see through the illusion

It's time to reveal the unknown

clearing up this false confusion

***

Tell me, when the lights go out

have you forgotten how to shine

Have we gone so long without it

we no longer recognize the signs

When did we give up on the notion

we are worthy to belong

Not just random raindrops in the ocean

or clever lyrics in a song

***

What will it take to stop this pattern

what will it take to ease the mind

Who's gonna stand, holding the lantern

who's here to save another life

I want to stand here in the gap

I want to brave the stormy sea

I want to locate every trap

so you know, you're worth it all, to me
