setting up a canvas in the middle of the room

sunlight is bleeding through the blinds that illuminate her face as she sleeps

you must learn to let go sometimes

breathe and let the pain subside

paint your feelings as you watch her chest rise and fall with each deep breath

don't let the darkness find where you hide

let your pain become poetry

even if you're the only one who understands

the least they can do is decipher

what it means to live alone inside your head

something good may come out of this

something you deserve

don't let fear decide where you go

speak bravery with every word

there is tenderness in this moment

show yourself some grace

when she wakes up she will adore you just the same.
