We Forgot How to Be Kind

Love didn’t end—it just got tired

By Anthony ScottPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

We didn’t shout,

we simply stopped listening.

We didn’t break,

we just forgot to bend.

You turned into silence,

and I filled it with excuses.

We passed each other like strangers

wearing familiar faces.

In another life,

we might have remembered

that kindness is stronger

than pride.
