He told me

he was wasted

from the day

That's why

he couldn't see me

*

Then he blamed me

for wasting his energy

the night before

when we were talking

cuddling, kissing, loving

*

He said I left him depleted

*

I guess he forgot

how he hurried me

out the door at 7am

just so he could

go on a date

with another woman

*

I guess he forgot

that he had left me

as quick as possible

hiked

a couple miles

through a mountain

and dehydrated himself

in a hot spring

*

I guess he forgot

that he worked a full day

physically exhausting himself

healing other people

*

I guess he's unaware

how energetically draining

it is

just to be around a narcissist

all day at work

*

He was wasted

on his own accord

but he blamed me

*

Like he did

with everything

*

because his ego

doesn't like to accept

responsibility

so he projected onto me

*

He was wasted

by his own lifestyle

not aware that

even though

he's not a narcissist

the more you hang around them

the more your behavior

will reflect their egoic tendencies

*

He wasted himself

like he wasted

a real relationship

with the truest woman

he will ever have

*

Because instead of

nourishing what would set him free

he decided he was comfortable

wearing his chains

fact or fiction
