Was It All In My Head

Well, Now It's In Yours Too

trapped in a thought

that came into my mind

like a deer, I was caught

deaf, dumb and blind

frozen in time

a dried up ink blot

paying for a crime

that this thought had wrought

stuck in one place

not moving forward or back

without a trace

and lacking feedback

left all alone

here, inside of my head

turning over each stone

but still, nothing bled

sweating the small stuff

peeling the turnips

I tried, off the cuff

to see what it might turn up

but it seems nothing helps

so I've come to this conclusion

when it seems all else fails

mask the truth with illusion
