The harsh reality of the day rattles my nerves.

My mind runs a mile a minute making the day slow and my body heavy.

The hand on the time clock seems like eternity waiting to strike five.

I know in harsh sun, the thunderous rain, and the bitter cold it waits.

I open the door and look to bar where it sits waiting.

The bronze color seduces me.

I grab a glass and fill it with ice to the rim.

I pour letting it coat the ice cubes with its flavor.

The first sip slaps me in the face bring me back to life.

The second sip fills my body with warmth make the pain melt away.

The smooth smokey flavor that lingers on my palette between sips.

It never asked for anything just listens as I hold it.

No matter the situation it always has time to comfort me.
