The Dance

I sit in the warehouse

Alone

Labeling items

Sorting the stuff

Surrounded by boxes full of

Pictures that can't speak

Things that can't feel

But I keep the dust away

Don't let things get cold

I maintain

Polish

I arrange, re-arrange

There's not that much but I

Guard the stacks

They used to not only be mine

Somewhere music plays and I

Stand and dance again

Same songs

I trip, fall on glass

I sit in this warehouse

Alone.
