Waltz of Life

by Stephanie J. Bradberry 3 months ago in love poems
Report Story

¾ Of My Favorite Things

Rainy days and humble homes

The clickity clack on cobble stones

Midnight air and herbs for care

Like gossamer wings and fairytales

Deep shore splashes, high pitched tingling

Of birds that talk so happily

Creaking floor boards and hushed tones

Hands caught in the cookie jar no more

Blankets soft from dryer heat

and subtle kisses every time the skin meets

Purring, scratching, grabbing tight

Days full of life, laughter and delight

Textured paper, the scratch of a quill pen

Words that make you long for home again

Savory, salty, tangy, sweet

Meals for the soul graced with umami

Good night prayers and tears of joy

Blessings of God’s goodness forevermore
