A poem for the lost

Wake

I wake every day,

Wishing to reset.

Hit pause.

I recolate

Inside my own mind

Trying to turn back time.

Become the person I once was.

Pause for a moment with me.

Not with grief,

Not with sorrow. But with misery to some degree

Misery over what once could have been.

I wake everyday,

With that same ache inside me.

Day after day,

With the feeling truly never going away.

I wake in the night.

Forgiving you time and time again.

How stupid could I be.

I pause, reflect.

Over again on what could have been.

I'd take myself back and try again.

Because all of this hurt in the end,

Made myself truly believe,

That nobody could ever really ever love me.
