WAITING FOR THE RAIN

WAITING FOR THE RAIN

And The Thunder Rolls

‘Tis rainy season again.

It happens this time each year.

We watch as the dark clouds approach.

When will rain appear?

*

We hear the thunder.

Lightning lights up the sky.

The wind blows the dark clouds away,

And we’re left asky why.

*

The grass is turning brown.

I guess it could be worse.

Do I hear thunder rolling in? I utter darn

As the dark clouds now disperse.

*

The wind is still blowing.

But there’s no cloud in sight.

I can’t help but wonder, what if

We might get rain tonight!
