Waiting
Photo by Benjamin Ranger on Unsplash

You won't find me on the red carpet,
I don't walk the catwalk in fancy clothes.
I don't beg for autographs,
You won't see me fangirl.

I'm quiet.
I'm patient.
I can wait for you to notice.
I'm honest,
and kind.
I'll be here when you find me.

I'm building a life worth finding,
filling pages, asking questions,
laughing too loud at things that aren't that funny.
I won't stand outside your door.
I'll leave mine open,
and keep living inside it.

Maybe one day you'll look my way,
and something in me will feel familiar.
Not because I made you see me,
not because I chased you down,
but because somehow, among all this noise,
you noticed me too.
