Vulnerability

Is a love language

When I say “I love you,” I don’t do so lightly.

Sharing my past experiences, my thoughts and feelings does not come easy.

For you see the latter comes when I feel safe, and is also a way I show the former is true.

Vulnerability grows where love is planted.

In these situations it can be easy to be taken for granted.

Yet when your soul is sparked in a most unexpected way, all you can do is hope that the trust will stay.

It’s easy for conversations to remain on the surface.

But digging down deep and taking the time to understand, that’s placing my heart in the palm of your hand.

I’ve often wondered when the phrase “it’s too good to be true” will stop being true and will only be good.

In the end I guess it’s when both parties choose to take down their respective hood.

Life at times gets dark and stormy. It weighs you down.

In those times when being strong gets tiresome.

It’s the ones, who don’t love lightly, that reach out and straighten our crown.
