Vintage Tides, The Movie

in every dawn

By Michele NampalliPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

I hummed a melody into the wind

my eyes frosted, beyond the quiet night

its vast translucent indigo gray

covered

***

A lark flew to sit on my perch

shook off the droplets of his flight

and stilled

the night held

in his regal posture

beak closed

resting, reflecting together.

he will sing at dawn.

every dawn.

here

with me

the fading stars watch his crescent chest

move to my moon

***

I held my breath

***

packed in his satchel was an inked pen

pressed paper, sealed letter

he left it on my sill

and takes flight

***

I’ll miss you too

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
