Vintage Christmas

Tales Of Yesterday

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Pixelated images

Salvaged moments long since past

Nothing feels like Christmas

And the years fly by too fast

Looking out the frosted windows

Listening for santa at the door

As the sound of tiny little toes

Gently traipes across the floor

The scent of Christmas pine

Filters warmly down the hall

With cinnamon and spice

And mama’s “time for breakfast “ call

Excitement steals the scene

As the music starts to play

These precious memories

That we celebrate today

Generational - hand me downs

Traditions gladly on display

Caught up in the sights and sounds

That make up this holiday

Tender flakes dancing in moonlight

The embers popping in the hearth

Celebrating here tonight

The gift and wonder of his birth
