Villanelle: Inflation and Gold-Like-Priced Eggs

The economy is in shambles, and we're all struggling.

In the marketplace where prices soar,

A dance of dollars, we can't ignore,

Eggs, like gold, they ask us to adore.

Inflation's waltz, a financial chore,

Each penny we had, it's there no more,

In the marketplace where prices soar.

Renting's chains, we willingly wore,

Slaves to landlords, forevermore.

Eggs, like gold, they ask us to adore.

Golden yolks, a luxury, galore,

Cracked open dreams on the kitchen floor,

In the marketplace where prices soar.

Complaints, a chorus, we all implore,

Expenses rise, an eternal roar.

Eggs, like gold, they ask us to adore.

In grocery aisles, a fiscal war.

The checkout counter, we can't explore,

In the marketplace where prices soar.

Yet we jest and mock, our wallets sore.

A tragicomic, financial uproar.

Eggs, like gold, they ask us to adore.
