Verse and Laughter

Oh, how a playful poem tickles the soul!
It sneaks past defenses with rhymes so droll
Pranks psyche and heart with sweet syllable spies
To uplift and delight in most mirthful ways.

For serious sorrows, a sonnet’s the cure!
It numbers emotions, makes feelings fewer.
The soul shouts “Eureka!” realizing not all
In life needs be dismal or lead to a fall.

When melodrama looms, limericks bring grins -
Their humor thwarts self-pity’s woeful whims!
Each punchline lands love’s knock-out kiss of bliss;
No grumpy gloom’s gloomier than limericks’ bliss!

Free verse flows where rules can’t reign in the ride -
It bucks and bolts as the soul’s unbridled guide!
Rhyme’s mischief is mighty; rhythm readers rock -
Teasing out giggles that unblock and unlock.

So send silly poems to stir up your soul -
Tickle it with teases ‘til it’s revived and whole!
Verse virally infects all that’s out of whack
Restoring with laughter what life might lack!
