Vein By Vein.

A love that lives beyond the body.

By stacy martir Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

if you told me you needed a rope to reach to the other side of the world, i would tear through my own flesh, and split my skin and muscle apart till my veins lay bare.

i would then wrench them from my body, strand by strand, stretching them across the void so you could walk safely, even as i unravel into nothing.

but even then, the absence of the fragile threads that try to hold me together, can’t take my life.

because my love for you runs deeper than blood, so even as i unravel, even as i am emptied, i remain.

because love like this does not die, even when everything else does.
