Veiled Promises

Echoes of Rhetoric in Modern Shadows

In gilded words, they paint the sky,

With hues of promise, splendid and high,

Yet behind the façade, truth does lie,

A grand illusion, veiled by a sigh.

They speak of change, with polished grace,

A world anew, where hope finds its place,

But as shadows dance upon life's stage,

Empty echoes fill the empty space.

With solemn vows, they pledge to heal,

A fractured world, where wounds are real,

Yet actions falter, like ships on keel,

Leaving hearts adrift in a sea of ordeal.

The trigger's pull, a tale untold,

Innocence fades in a darkness cold,

As questions rise, in whispers bold,

But answers evade, like secrets untold.

Discrimination's grasp, a web spun wide,

Injustice thrives, shadows collide,

Yet they parade in a mask of pride,

Leaving unity fractured, voices denied.

Housing dreams, a sanctuary sought,

A place to rest, where love is brought,

Yet for many, this dream is naught,

As policies falter, and plans are caught.

Oh, modern minstrels of illusion's sway,

Your symphony of words, a beguiling display,

In the labyrinth of truth, you lead astray,

Leaving society yearning for a brighter day.

Let us pierce the veil, uncover the truth,

Seek tangible actions, demand solid proof,

For in unity's strength, we'll find the sleuth,

To unravel the echoes of promises aloof.
