Use It, Or Lose It

Time And It's Distractions

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Desolation, disrepair, diamonds from the dust, left there.

Inattention and neglect, from the ashes, resurrect.

Seek to understand the truth, until a door becomes a window - a dance with the unknown, or a smile from a shadow.

Toss a coin, repair/regret, new journeys to be had. Just don't forget to look for good in everything you've had.

Rumbling and whispering, encircles round your head, while mother nature looks for ways to grow up, what's been dead.

Adversities to aversions, actions needed to advance, anything can happen, when you give it half a chance.

Conduits of chaos, controlled balance dressed in lace. There is no conjuring the magic, without some kind of consequence.

Time...a grand illusion. An illusive intermission of distraction. Granting temporary reactions of it's fleeting satisfaction.

Innuendos, speculations, complicate and thrown off course. All defeated, come to see that, we're the ones we cheat the most.

Oceans of mystery remain, calling us to follow. When we finally depart, it's a difficult pill to swallow.

Nature reclaims what was hers, on loan, for just a time. If it weren't for the distractions, we would we miss out on the rhymes.

Nature reclaims what was hers on loan. I loved that line so much!

  • We'd never take time to hear the rhymes if it weren't for all the distractions. Still letting this settle in as with each passing moment I find another treasure..., & am distracted by it.

  • I love this! Well done!

So clever, the poem includes so many couplets, making two lines into one and painting the entire story.
