Upon A Star

When Wishes Were, Magic

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I can be your Jiminy cricket

Make every wish you wish, come true

Be the illusive golden ticket

Make all your dreams come into view

I can be your grand illusion

The silver on your cloud of nine

Dissolving away all confusion

The gossip in your grapest vine

I can fly like tinker-bell

Grant you the chance to fly away

Renew the stories no one tells

Those tales of you, in yesterday

I’m the genie, you’re Aladdin

Rub the lamp and cast the spell

More than three, it takes a lifetime

And pennies in a wishing well

Anywhere you go, I’ll follow

You’re the magnet, I am steel

Take the pill that’s hard to swallow

Letting your heart turn into “real”
