Unwanted Trophy
A relic from a life long past,
placed on a shelf, left to gather dust.
Not wanted then, not wanted now,
just a name in the quiet hush.
Once I thought I held a place,
a meaning carved in golden light,
but I was only something kept—
never cherished, never right.
I knew you didn’t want I always knew,
the way the air would shift and sigh,
a hollow prize, a distant ghost,
a love that never met the eye.
