You told me you don't like poetry,
but I have nothing else to give.
All I have are these words
and my love for you poured on a page.
I wish I was an artist
so I could draw your immaculate beauty
over and over again.
But I'm afraid I am not.
I wish I was a singer
so I could sing you to sleep each night
with how much I adore you.
But I'm afraid I am not.
I wish I was an architect
so I could build monuments for you
and show the world how inspiring you are.
But I'm afraid I am not.
I wish I was a magician
so I could impress you even half as much
as you impress me every single day.
But I'm afraid I am not.
The truth is,
I want to give you the world
but I don't have the world to give.
All I have are these words and the
mediocre prose you'll never enjoy
