Until We Meet Again

By John SwanPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

Live in the present

It's all we really have

Tomorrow is never a guarantee

But in life

We all have to learn to say goodbye

Maybe it's a one time meeting

And you know it will never be anything more

Perhaps it's a friend

And you hope you'll see them the next day

Then there's the final good byes

A relationship coming to an end

Saying a final farewell to a loved one

Until you see them on the other side

All of these are easy

They vary in hurt but you know what's next

Then there's the ones that truly hurt

The ones where your next meeting isn't clear

These are the ones that break you

The ones that tear you apart

The one that you struggle to avoid

But loving someone means you also need to let go

So in these moments

You hide your emotions deep inside

Put on a brave face

And wish them well

When you turn away

And you're all alone

That's when the reality strikes

Until we meet again...
