until then

as it awaits your ears

By SoulPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

maybe it's too soon to say i'm in love with you so i'll just say: every time your voice echoes in my eardrums it stirs a fuss of iridescent honey, golden and glistening like morning dew, melodies dripping off the sticky sweetness like jazz on a rainy afternoon. i'll just say that being in your presence feels like a weighted blanket during my darkest nights, enveloping every pore on my skin, soothing all my midnight worries with one touch, putting the guard on the blade of my thoughts. i'll just say that the thought of us together for eternity sounds like the low hum of my grandma's old TV and the smell of her pecan pie after a long day of childhood duties, sweet and intoxicating on my yearning tastebuds when i speak it into existence with a hint of nostalgia jumping down my throat. a love like this has known eternities; i am only meeting you again after a lengthy break, but our souls are already familiar.
