reaching deep
until i said no.
when never again really meant so.
and i took back that peace.
because who. do. you. think. You. are.
until i said i still believe.
when you don’t have to but i do.
reaching deep.
i feel like an alien when i look at me in your eyes.
until i don’t see what you see.
when it's not so clear anymore.
not here for the laughs or the likes.
and the empty promises left heart and spirit in kind.
shared for now.
a different angle on the same path.

when i still hoped but knew you’d never mean it.
