Untamed Heart

Wild and dangerous are our hearts

The heart shan’t be tamed. As the beats shake, rattle, and break the boney prison it resides.

Though try as some might. The humble servant of this predictable tomb, within it hides.

Some say it’s crafted in steel. Others ‘tis a muscle. Or a stone-cold blood bender.

Unpleasant to think it anything else. A cold-stone piece of flesh so tender.

A heart has gone cold! That is what is said. Yet still, blood runs warm and comfiest.

A cold beating heart is neither frozen nor stiff. The cold stone heart easily fits on the mountain side of Everest.

I shall say it twice, or thrice if it pleases. Though try as some might. The heart shan’t be tamed.

About the Creator

Dylan S

I am an inspiring writer. I have always enjoyed writing with pen and paper. Jotting down my thoughts and my own constructs of reality and make-believe, and bringing them into the world. I enjoy writing and would love to get paid doing it.
