Safe is not mother’s wrath

Safe is not father’s detachment

Safe is not the carousel that is home

With horses hideous, blaring red fangs.

Safe is not lover’s wondering eye

Safe is not lover’s misaligned act

Safe is not lover’s hypocrisy

When your scream against his scream has reason none.

Safe is not home where tense the air is

Safe is not home where foreign the feelings

Safe is not home of cracking concrete

Where the walls close in on you, suffocate you.

Safe are not friends coming and leaving

Safe are not friends making commitments false

Safe are not friends abusing benefits

Which you offer with pure kindness and love.

Safe isn’t you who lacks control

Safe isn’t you who spurs

Safe isn’t you who gives in

When temptation takes over your logic,

It’s you who is unsafe.
