The Pain of Loving from Afar

I see you in my dreams at night,

But in the morning, you're out of sight.

I long to hold you close and tight,

But all I feel is an empty plight.

My love for you is pure and true,

But you'll never know what I go through.

I try to hide it, but it's hard to do,

When all I want is to be with you.

I watch you from afar and sigh,

As you laugh and smile with another guy.

It hurts to know that you'll never be mine,

But my love for you will never die.

I'll keep on loving you in silence,

Though it causes me immense violence.

It's a pain I'll bear with persistence,

For the love I have for you is an existence.

I'll keep you in my heart and mind,

And hope someday you'll be mine to find.

Until then, my love will be confined,

To the depths of my soul, forever entwined.

I'll wait for you, my love, my dear,

Though the wait may bring me to tears.

For the pain of unrequited love, I'll bear,

For the chance to have you, I'll always be there.
