I have been kissed by the stars,

I've been held by the moon

I've felt the sunrise

and I've seen the aurora borealis light up my world

I've had the sky caress me

I've had the clouds lift me up

I've had lightning strike my heart

And still, there was nothing like you.

-

Except there is.

Because you're the waterfall in the creek I used to frequent,

You're the trees in autumn and the sound of treading on snow

You're not the big bang or a galaxy or space

You're just the rocks I run away to at 2 am

Familiar, safe and beautifully unremarkable.
