Unlearning Love
"I Know All Her Faults, And I Can Live With That"- A Man In Love
The problem with most people
*
is imagining love is the easy road
*
We were taught how to love
in all the wrong ways
To look for love
in all the wrong places
*
We were taught swiping right
defines if someone is worth your time
*
We were taught to undervalue reality
& glorify shiny, beautiful, plastic things
*
We were told that relationships absent in arguments are the most healthy
*
In reality
*
Only the ego allows swiping away at contenders
The soul doesn't have an app for love's contentment
*
Reality is a treasure
Hold on to it if you ever get a taste
*
Most people will only give you Splenda love
Sometimes it takes years to feel
the sickly sweet cancer they injected in your veins
*
A real one will give you honey
to sweeten the sour taste of lemonade
*
Unwavering agreement is codependency
Arguments are a channel for growth
if you let them be
*
Perfection is an illusion
Pride will tarnish the purest
soul connection
*
Love is acceptance
of the good, the bad, and the mediocrity
*
Love encourages us to grow in ways
we may have rejected previously
*
Love isn't easy
nor is it hard
It just takes courage
to accept people as they are
*
Their beauty
their ugliness
their glow
their scars
