Under the full moon's glow

The actual moon

Under the full moon's glow,

I had a crazy dream last night

Of a world turned upside down

Where nothing was quite right

I was running through a forest

Chased by a pack of wild hounds,

I stumbled upon a clearing

Where a strange sight abounded

There was a house made of candy

With windows of spun sugar

I couldn't resist the temptation

And I crept up to take a peek through the window viewer

Inside the house was a circus

Performers danced and juggled

But as I watched in amazement,

The scene suddenly struggled

The tightrope walker stumbled

The acrobats tumbled down

The clowns all fell to the ground

And the circus came crashing down

I woke up in a cold sweat

Breathless and confused,

But the memory of that dream

Still leaves me feeling bemused

The full moon shone brightly

As I lay there in my bed,

And I couldn't shake the feeling

That the dream wasn't quite over, not yet.
