Is there a love that surpasses everything else,
that makes you feel like you're floating in the clouds,
never to fall,
feeling safe and warm,
and above it all?
Is there a love that lasts through eternities,
time and space,
someone that travels from place to place
with your soul?
Does it really exist?
Does it really take someone else
to make your heart whole?
Do we need others to complete us?
Or should we be figuring out
how to do that ourselves?
Is there a love that's unconditional?
That isn't about money.
That isn't about sex.
That isn't about what you can do for each other.
That is just a couple people who are equals,
enjoying life,
fighting together,
and doing whatever they can
to ensure that each other is happy,
while also doing everything they can
to make themselves happy.
Does that exist?
Is it real?
Is there even a possibility?
I don't think so.
I think love is a fading,
withering thing,
not meant to last.
Just a heartbeat,
and then it's gone.
And then we're left alone,
wondering what we did wrong.
