Uncertain
A young woman's fear of facing the unknown with her fertility
A young woman sits alone at night,
Terrified of what the future holds,
For deep within her heart she knows,
She may never be able to have a child of her own.
She's scared to go to the doctor,
To get the test done,
For fear of what they might say,
And the pain that may come.
She dreams of holding a baby,
Of watching it grow,
But the thought of it not happening,
Makes her heart heavy and slow.
She's afraid to face the truth,
Of what her body may say,
So she sits and waits in silence,
And pushes her appointment to a different day.
But deep down she knows,
She must be brave and strong,
For only then will she find out,
If her dream can come true and prove her mind wrong.
So she musters up the courage,
And makes the appointment,
Hoping for the best,
But preparing for the worst,
For only then can she move forward,
And start to build her future,
With or without a child,
But knowing what's ahead, for sure.
