Unattainable

song/poem about parasocial crushes

By CT IdlehousePublished 9 months ago 1 min read

How fucking lonely must I be

To believe that I can see

A love beyond the computer screen?

/

I don't even really know him

But my heart is in an ocean

Of hopeless, obsessive affection...

/

Oh, poor, poor pick-me bitch,

How do I call myself a feminist

If a man makes me lose my mind...

It's just gonna end in disappointment every time.

/

He's unattainable...

My heart hears sustainable...

The butterflies increase in size.

I'm incorrigible...

My mind is a forest full

Of dreams starring you and I...

But it's not love,

It can't be.

It's just my loneliness,

My hopelessness and me.

/

How fucking desperate must I be

To think you'd ever notice me

In a crowd of prettier women?

/

I'm so fucked in the head,

Only demons in my bed,

I should really come with a warnin'.

/

It'll read, "Caution: Hot to handle,

Full of trauma, please be gentle.

Will love you with all her soul,

But to her own detrimental."

/

He's unattainable...

My heart hears sustainable...

The butterflies increase in size.

I'm incorrigible...

My mind is a forest full

Of dreams starring you and I...

But it's not love,

It can't be.

It's just my loneliness,

My hopelessness and me.

/

I pray this feeling fades...

But I am only human.

I wish you every happiness...

Even if I'm not a part of it.

/

He's unattainable...

My heart hears it's breakable.

So I will not try.
