Happiness is not
a "Warm body and a cold heart" combo.
Lukewarm won't do either.
I'd so much sooner be alone.
No, joy is the Fire of love, all-consuming.
And gratitude is having finally found it truly.
It renders all that came before non-existent.
Look past the surface of a smile to the intent.
Life is in some
But some just in it.
Masks always fall eventually
To front and feign "happy" is a fool's folly.
There is beauty in the real and raw.
And what I see changed all I saw.
After breaking in winter
I've grown wings this summer.
With a bird's eye view I'm all the wiser
And for it, living better.
