Two Way Mirror
A reflection of where we come from and where we are going.
Stargazing is not looking up.
It is looking down into infinity.
Caught between where I come from
And where I want to go.
Stargazing is not looking at stars.
It is looking at ancient fragments of me.
Caught between great mysteries
And what I already know.
Stargazing is not looking at galaxies
millions of lightyears away.
It is the act of being
Caught between unknowable
Dust above and dust below.
Stargazing is not lying on the ground.
It is floating through space at lightspeed
unsure of where I came from
unsure of where I am going
And being at peace all the same.
