TWO GENTLE SWANS

Two gentle swans,
Life is peaceful, days are slow.
No disturbance, no where to go,
Swans are swimming at ease.

Across the lake, where lilies grow,
Where gentle winds of summer blow,
Two loving hearts just drift along,
Their little world, a silent song.

The water ripples beneath their wings,
The morning sun its beauty brings.
And underneath the waters blue,
The little fish are swimming through.

No angry storms, no troubled skies,
Just peaceful days and loving eyes.
No need to hurry through the day,
No reason ever to swim away.

One swan looks back, the other smiles,
They’ve travelled many watery miles.
Through winter frost and summer rain,
And always found their love again.

The reeds are whispering by the shore,
Of days gone by, and days before.
When they were young and learning how,
To love the life they’re living now.

And underneath the silver stream,
The golden fish swim through a dream.
While circles spread across the lake,
From every gentle move they make.

They do not ask what lies ahead,
Or worry where their dreams have led.
They simply live from day to day,
And let the world just drift away.

For love is not a hurried thing,
Nor all the promises we bring.
Sometimes it’s just a quiet place,
A gentle touch, a loving face.

And when the evening shadows fall,
And distant birds begin to call,
Two gentle swans, still side by side,
Upon the peaceful waters glide.

For life is short, and love is rare,
And beautiful when two hearts share.
The quiet moments others miss,
A lifetime held in one soft kiss.
