Secret Messes

Fighting a war

No-one can see

Live life, loving poor

Deep inside of me

I struggle and fight

But, it just won’t leave

With all of my might

To hope, I cleave

Frustration and loss

Lonely and sad

So many costs

And dues, I’ve had

To the other side

I try to helplessly reach

To find comfort and hide

Someone to embrace me

I know I’m not alone

Others feel this way too

But nothing feels like home

My heart is black and blue

The wound camouflaged

An invisible pain

I bleed into the scenery

A sweet smile on my face

So you’ll never know

Never have too address

The hurt that I hold

My beautiful mess

Sounds like life with the ups and downs.

  • If any deserve healing, it is you, my friend. Blessings upon all your wondrous mess.

    Sad, and beautifully expressed.

"I bleed into the scenery" - what a line. Wearing a brave face is more common than we think, eh?
